How To Vote

When is Election Day?

November General Election - The General Election takes place on the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November annually.*

June Primary Election - The June Primary Election is the first Tuesday after the first Monday in June annually. *

* Close of Registration (last day to Register to Vote) is 21 days before an election.

Note: The last day you may change your party affiliation is 55 days before a Primary Election. Unaffiliated voters can become affiliated by declaring a party at the polls.

Please know that it is against the law for anyone EXCEPT you the voter to mark or inspect your ballot. Use ONLY an ink pen (black or blue) to mark your ballot. Do NOT use red ink.

  • Insert your completed ballot into the Certificate of Mail-In Voter envelope.
  • Do not detach the flap from the Certificate of Mail-in Voter or your ballot may not be counted.
  • When signing the Certificate of Mail-In Voter MAKE SURE you SIGN YOUR NAME AS IT APPEARS IN THE E-POLL BOOK.

Voting Provisional. Why? What Does It Mean?

A provisional ballot is normally used when a voter's eligibility cannot be immediately established-i.e., name is not on registration list.

  • Voter did not receive a mail-in ballot or did not vote it
  • Registration reflects an error in party listing (Primary Election only)
  • Address and/or name has changed
